Swedish Massage...

Involves the manipulation of soft tissue such as muscle and tendons for therapeutic purposes. Sometimes treatment is given for stress, muscular tension or to aid speedier recovery from injury. Herbal Massage oils are sometimes applied to the skin to enhance therapeutic effect.

Aromatherapy Massage...

uses blended oils to suit the individual's ailments /  preferences and massaged into the body during a relaxing / soothing or therapeutic / invigorating massage treatment.

TuiNa Chinese Medical Massage...

is a deep tissue massage and can be used for stress, sports injury or disease and has been practised in China as part of Traditional Chinese Medicine for over two thousand years. Cheryl has studied with Chinese Doctors and Professors in Hangzhou, China as part of her thirst to continually evolve her repertoire of techniques as a practitioner.

Acupressure Massage...

applies pressure to acupuncture points and is often referred to be “acupuncture without the needles”. It is known to accelerate, initiate and manipulate chemical processes in the body as well as release painful trigger points in the muscles. Pressure is applied using fingers, thumbs, elbows  or special acupressure gadgets. Patients usually feel a pleasurable releasing sensation as points are worked on. It is often blended with other massage techniques.

Cupping Therapy...

is a therapy that has been practised in China and other cultures for many centuries. It involves the application of cups to the body whereby the oxygen has been removed from the cup either by gentle suctioning from a hand pump valve on the cup (Suction Cups) or by putting a lighted flame in the cup for a few seconds before it is applied to the skin ( Fire Cupping ). Both procedures are painless and very pleasant to receive as they create a pulling sensation on the body similar to receiving a good deep tissue massage and have the result of increasing the circulation and blood flow / lymph flow to the area to improve function, remove blockage and enhance local healing to the tissues. Cups may be left on the body over acupuncture points for around 5 to15 minutes or applied painful areas of the body . Cupping may be done after massage oil has been applied. The cups are then glided up and down an area of the body ( usually the back or legs ).

Myofascial Release : A Whole Bodywork approach to Healthcare...

is a system devised by John F. Barnes in the U.S.A. Cheryl has studied with the UK's leading authority on blended Classical and Modern Myofascial release techniques, Ruth Duncan of Myofascial Release UK. Because fascia ( the connective tissue around muscle and organs) has the ability to contract and relax, it plays a core role in restoring muscle function. The whole network of fascia is considered and the principle that the whole is treated rather than isolated problematic areas is central to this approach.
